Another true ‘scatterjazz’ event! Dave Easley is perhaps the world’s most beguiling pedal-steel guitarist, coming to New Orleans over 30 years ago by way of Hawaii and Champaign, Illinois. Rurik plays the violin and Kevin the electric bass. Rurik Nunan and Kevin Scott are old comrades in music of all genres from Atlanta, although both now make their homes here. Kevin Scott was the bassist for the last many years in the life of Colonel Bruce Hampton, and currently is still the touring bassist with Jimmy Herring and the Invisible Whip as well as Wayne Krantz and FORQ. These fellows have all done studio and live work in pairs, but never before played in this trio format.
